I love Semillon. I love it in all its guises - in the flush of youth and the complexity of age; from the crisp freshness of the Estate range to the purity and elegance of the Reserve (to say nothing of the honeyed magnificence of our 'sticky' desert wine). 

The quality of the best Hunter Valley Semillons is undeniable - I've got some great examples in my cellar at home - but I urge you to dive into Huntington Semillon; especially these 2021s that are hitting their straps just now, and the 2016 that is ageing so gracefully.
They're different in a really lovely way thanks to our terroir. At 5 - 600M above sea level, in the shadow of the Great Dividing Range, our inland climate sees a huge diurnal shift (today swung from a low of 5 to a high of 32!). Mudgee's cool nights put the brakes on ripening, allowing fruit and floral flavours to emerge without the loss of the vibrant acid that is vital for freshness and longevity. This means the wines possess Semillon's varietal characteristics but are approachable and friendly in their youth - all while retaining the capacity to age.
As well as a wine lesson (pay attention at the back, I'm talking to you Phelan), this is a simply beautiful mix of whites for this summer and those to come.
It's such a pleasure to be able to offer 2-year-old current releases in the whites so their youth can be fully appreciated, and it is always fantastic to be able to share a Museum Release (especially one that just won a Gold Medal in the Museum Class) to show you how a few years of patience and careful cellaring will be rewarded.

Gin and tonic, lemon pith and honeysuckle on the nose. Palate as per nose; lemon pith, gin and Indian tonic. Mouthfilling. Rounded mid-palate. Smooth with a lingering finish. Pleasing acidity and balance.

Aromas of Lemon verbena, clean, lifted citrus and pear blossom. Succulent, juicy acids. Lemon juice, lemon curd. Fine acids - fantastically smooth and long. Outstanding length. Wet river stone, long pure lines, perfect balance.

Lemon verbena, hints of lanolin and beeswax. Honeysuckle, white pepper. Lemon pith and bright grapefruit. Developing richness, roundness and luscious complexity. Juicy back palate, lovely finish.
